Rungis & Co bénéficie de locaux situés en plein coeur du marché.

The location is ideal. Downstairs in the Tide pavilion at the Rungis market, not far from the smell of fish and seafood, the start-up Pandobac has installed its washing center. The company offers wholesalers an alternative to single-use packaging: the rental of bins of standardized sizes. These container stocks can be tracked using a QR code and are then collected and washed after use, either by the company in Rungis or at partner wash centres. Pandobac, which also has a consulting activity, thus positions itself as an actor in the reuse The story of the start-up is one of the success cases of Rungis & Co, the incubator of the national interest market of Rungis, managed from 2022. by Schoolab. Incubated within the structure in 2020, the start-up Pandobac became a client of Semmaris, the company that manages the MIN, when it established itself in the market. “Being incubated at Rungis & Co allowed us both to be close to the wholesalers and to know the market better, but also to be present in Sirha,” explains Anaïs Ryterband, co-founder of Pandobac. The international restaurant fair, which is held every year in Lyon, was an opportunity for the young brother to introduce several customers Local to the gastronomic pavilion Created in 2015, Rungis & Co left its offices in the administrative part of the MIN to a period much more central location: an area of 800 m2, located just above the gastronomic pavilion. A key location for the structure that is defined as “the food incubator that rethinks the food value chain with market players”. Incubated companies can thus test their solutions directly with wholesalers. “Although MIN likes tradition and terroir, it is important to have innovation,” insists Stéphane Layani, president and CEO of Semmaris. Since January, 40 young shoots have been incubated at Rungis & Co for a period of 6 months . Among them, 12 are in distance learning. In particular, this allows companies outside the Paris region to benefit from the support, says Coline Schmitt, the director of the structure: “We even have an entrepreneur located in Marseille! The remaining 28 startups benefit from flexible offices, where they work on various projects such as the delivery of fresh products from sub-Saharan Africa for the company Fresh Afrika. The start-up Fresh Colis is developing a network of relief points dedicated to fresh products. In total, more than 80 start-ups have been supported since 2015 by Rungis & Co, 70 of which are still in operation. “Ideally, young companies settle in the MIN after their incubation,” says Pauline Jacquemard, director of CSR and innovation at Semmaris. But when they leave, they are often not yet ready to do so. Semmaris is thus working on the construction of a building where these “immature” companies can stay for a short period.
