Amazon orders several Marvel-Sony shows, starting with ‘Silk: Spider Society’ by ‘Walking Dead’ Alum Angela Kang

Variety has revealed that Amazon is working on several live-action shows based on Marvel characters, which are officially being piloted by Sony. The first series in the deal is “Silk: The Spider Society,” developed by “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang with “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” creators Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Kang will serve as showrunner and executive producer on “Silk” as part of her new multi-year all-TV deal with Amazon. Kang, Lord, and Miller are all executive producers, along with former Sony president Amy Pascal. Sony Pictures Television is the studio with which Lord and Miller currently have an overall contract. “Silk: Spider Society” will premiere on the MGM+ (nee Epix) linear channel in Korea and will be released worldwide on Prime Video. The show is based on characters created for Marvel Comics by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos.
